What a Year of Production Visits Taught Us About Content
After a full year of production visits with clients across Antigua & Barbuda and the wider Caribbean, a few lessons keep coming up. None of them are complicated. All of them changed how we shoot.
Two hours is enough — if you plan them
The most common mistake we see is treating a shoot day like a blank canvas. It is not. When you only have one to two hours on location, every shot needs a reason to exist. We now walk every location beforehand, agree on a shot list with the client, and arrive with the first three shots already decided. The remaining time is for the happy accidents.
Real light beats perfect gear
Phone cameras are good enough for most social content, but a camera does not fix a 2 pm sunburn of a lighting plan. We schedule around the sun first and the calendar second. Golden hour on a Tuesday beats midday on a Saturday every single time.
The client’s team is the content
The most engaging posts we produce are rarely about the product. They are about the people making it. Staff who are nervous in front of a camera become your best storytellers when the shoot is framed as “show us your day” instead of “perform for the lens.”
Consistency outperforms polish
One beautifully produced video a quarter loses to a steady stream of honest, well-lit, real content every week. That is why our Digital Presence retainers are built around rhythm, not one-off productions. Momentum is a strategy, not an accident.
If you want this kind of thinking applied to your brand, that is literally what we do every week. Start with a single production visit and see what it reveals.
